The Congregation of Sisters of St. Ann of Providence
was founded in Turin, Italy, in 1834
by the Pious couple
Carlo Tancredi Faletti di Barolo
And
Giulia Colbert de Maulevrier
Not having been gifted with children, the couple interpreted this painful situation as the ever-providential design of God’s “inscrutable wisdom”. As a young couple rooted in God and anchored to hope, they threw their hearts open to love. Their daily union in mutual self esteem, in sincere dialogue and in the unconditional gift of self, was a reflection of the Love of God. They loved the poor, to whom they gave their talents, time and energies, revealing to them in love and mercy, their dignity of the children of God. They honoured every human life. They did all they could for the youth, and their all-round development. Through education, they sought the sound growth of poor children, whom they welcomed into the kindergarten they founded in their own house, taking them away from the streets.
In 1834, the Barolo couple founded the Institute of the Sisters of St.Ann, to help them with their praiseworthy work. The gift of the Spirit that was granted to them became visible and fruitful in us, Sisters of St. Ann, a Religious family. We are happy to continue their mission in time, at the service of the new generations, as instruments of Providence for the little ones and the poor whom God places along our path.
Blessed Mother Enrichetta Dominici ( First Mother General )
Blessed Mother Enrichetta Dominici (Beatified on 7th May, 1978) gave impetus to the Charism and Mission of the infant institute, developing its apostolic and charitable activity which has continued to be carried on uninterruptedly. She gave a missionary dimension to the Institute sending 6 sisters to Secunderabad, India in 1871. Today, the Congregation besides being in Italy and India is also present in Brazil, Philippines, United States, Switzerland, Mexico, Cameroon, Peru and in Argentina, collaborating everywhere, with varied activities in the Church’s work of evangelization.
Our Patroness: ST.ANN
Since 1934 there has been steady progress in the Mission which speaks highly of the apostolic zeal of the good Missionaries and their co-workers, the indigenous Sisters, who have come to take shelter under the wings and share in their apostolic labours.
We, the Sisters of St. Ann, walking in the footsteps of our Founders commit ourselves to be merciful Love, Instruments of Providence and Signs of Hope to all, especially the ‘little ones’ and the poor.

THE SOCIETY OF JESUS MARY JOSEPH (JMJ)
was founded by REV. FR. MATHIAS WOLFF S.J
OUR PATRONS
OUR FOUNDER
The Society of Jesus Mary Joseph, was founded in 1822 in Holland with the charism of liberation of the oppressed with the spirit of an “Ever Adaptable Apostolic Availability”. Consequent upon the French Revolution, practice of Catholic faith in public had been prohibited in Holland. The Catholics were subjected to petty supervisions, and very severe anti-Catholic laws were passed concerning schools and education in general. In this dire need Fr.Mathias Wolff founded the JMJ Congregation to impart Christian education to catholic girls.
Accordingly the sisters of JMJ dedicate themselves to education, health care, social and pastoral ministries in accordance with the signs of the times and in respect to the needs of the Church in different parts of the world i.e. Holland, Indonesia, Rome, Africa, India and U. S
Our Vision
To be impassioned in God is to be impassioned for people. Thus led by the Spirit we live the motto, “With the Lord of the World for the World of the Lord” creating a large family of God.
Our Spirituality
The spirit of the Society of Jesus Mary Joseph is a sharing in the spirit of Jesus Christ who was obedient unto death to His Father. In imitation of Jesus its members should distinguish themselves by perfect obedience.
Our Founder’s Prayer
Change me into Thyself Dear Lord, That I may live in Thee and for Thee alone. May my happiness on earth consist in fulfilling Thy holy will. Amen.

The history of Charity of St.Anne
The Congregation of Sisters of Charity of St. Anne was founded in Spain, Zaragoza on 28th December 1804 by the Mother Maria Rafols and father John Bonal.
The Congregation of the Sisters of St.Anne, of Zaragoza, was the first Religious Congregation of active life in Spain. It was call on 28th December, 1804, in the Royal and General “Hospital of Our Lady of Grace”, in Zaragoza – “the House of the sick, of he city and the world at large” –“Ddomus Infirmorum urbis et orbis”, in Zaragoza. (This inscription can be read to this day on the gates of the present hospital). The Sisters of the Congregation commit their life to God through the profession of the evangelical counsels lived in Community and a fourth vow of “Hospitality”. The 18th century was rich in the birth of fraternities, and as the years passed, they would give rise to various religious Congregations. This Congregation came to be founded from one such Fraternity, formed by a group of 12 young women, from “the Hospital of the Holy Cross”, Barcelona, who were dedicated to the care of the Hospitals. This 18th century hospital was a refuge for all the type of ailments. It’s as if all the social work as we know it today was concentrated in one place. We find a young priest – Chaplain of this Hospital, coordinating the work of those volunteers who were committed to alleviating the afflictions of others. Barcelona was exporting volunteers from the “Hospital de la Santa Cruz”. Love always comes to the rescue of that in need because it feels the pain of others as its own, and wants to heal the deficiency and take to its fulfillment what is merely glimpsed. Love is always the dominant factor. One could count on these tiny sprouts that dreamt of being branches of tree – namely to form to form a single religious Congregation. The Hospital of Our Lady of Grace of Zaragoza, the honor of Spain, charitable Institution with none to equal it in all Europe, was known throughout the world. The Hospital was founded in 1425, by King Alfonso V, the wise, to be the house of the sick of the city and the world at large. It opened its doors to all the sick who came, whether they suffered from ordinary diseases or contagious ones, including lunatics and abandoned children and fallen women with their illegitimate children. The No. of patients was out of proportion to the city’s population, normally between 1500 to 2000 at a given time. It was this Hospital, a unique hospital, having no equal in the country that suffered a terrible change: lack of care and cleanliness, corruption in the administration, scandalous behavior, selling of medicines, quarrels, rows etc. There was trade in rations and substitution of these for money or sweets, and over and above a bad odor that the wards emitted. In Zaragoza, the Board of the “Hospital of Our Lady of Grace” was looking for solution for betterment in the care of the Hospital. It contacted Fr.Juan Bonal of Barcelona, who at the request of the Board offered the possibility of establishing a Fraternity in the hospital. Soon, the obligations contracted by Father Juan Bonal for the recruits, after long consultation of the Managing Board, were all written down in the “Little Notebook” (the famous “cuadernito”) of Father John Bonal, around 1805. On 28th December 1804, 12 brothers and 12 sisters arrive in Zaragoza to attend to the Hospital from 1st January 1805. Guiding them was a young priest Juan Bonal and a young woman Maria Rafols. This is the Fraternity of the 12 women, that becomes a Diocesan Congregation in 1824; and on 14th January 1898, Pope Leon XIII, approves the Congregation, thus confirming the authenticity of its Charism; And, it becomes a Congregation of Pontifical Rite Sisters of Charity of St. Anne. This is the story of a tiny group devoted to the care of the sick, who slogged in obscurity for years before getting due recognition. War, famine and sickness decimated the group, a stifling system of the Administrative Board and internal division almost killed it. But the Charism was stronger than ever slow death and, when allowed free course, it sprouted and grew with all its power from 1857 onwards, under the helm of the Venerable Mother Pabla Bescos, who was the Mother General of the Congregation for 35 years. Today the Congregation renders its service in all five continents. India received this legacy in 1951. In India having two Provinces (1) Gujarat Province with 33 Communities and (2) Bombay province with 32 Communities all over India doing all type of mission according to the signs of times and the needs of the Catholic Church to serve the humanity in the kingdom of God.
